Golf
Belek’s primary identity is golf. The resort area hosts some of Europe’s most highly regarded golf courses: Antalya Golf Club (27 holes), The National Golf Club, Montgomerie Maxx Royal, Gloria Golf Resort, Cornelia Golf Club, and a dozen more. Green fees typically run approximately ₺3,000–₺6,000 per round in 2026, depending on the course and season. The spring season (March–May) and autumn season (September–November) are peak for golf — summer is too hot for comfortable play.
Most of the large Belek resort hotels have on-site or adjacent golf courses, making the logistics of a golf holiday extremely straightforward. Package deals bundling accommodation and green fees are widely available through specialist operators.
Antalya has no golf courses within the city. If golf is the point of the trip, Belek is the answer.
Beaches
Belek wins on beach quality for this stretch of coast. The beaches are sandy — unusual for Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, which is often shingle — and run for kilometres along the hotel strip. Kaleiçi — the old town — is a well-preserved quarter of Ottoman houses, Byzantine walls, and the Roman Hadrian’s Gate (2nd century AD, free to enter). The Antalya Museum is Turkey’s best regional archaeological museum: Lycian, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman artefacts with excellent English labelling (entry approximately ₺200 as of 2026). Day Trips and Activities
Antalya day trips are extensive: Düden Waterfalls (15km), Kurşunlu Waterfalls (22km), Perge ruins (25km), Aspendos theatre (45km), Termessos mountain ruins (35km), Taurus Mountain cable car, Side ruins (75km east). A rental car for a day or two opens the entire archaeological circuit of Pamphylia and Pisidia.
Belek day trips are more limited as the resort is self-contained by design. The nearest landmarks are Perge (20km) and Aspendos (35km) — easy half-day excursions. Antalya city itself is 35km and often visited as a day trip from Belek.
For Families
Both are strong family options but in different ways. Belek all-inclusive resorts are built for families: kids’ clubs, water parks, children’s pools, entertainment programmes, and the reassurance of everything on one property. The sandy beach is better for small children than Antalya’s Konyaaltı shingle. Antalya with children requires more planning but rewards with history, museums, and the ability to introduce children to a real Turkish city rather than a resort bubble.
