Kuşadası is the Aegean coast’s busiest resort and cruise port - a large, lively town where multiple cruise liners dock daily in summer and the marina is lined with restaurants, bars and souvenir shops. It’s one of the most commercially developed resorts in Türkiye, which means a vast choice of accommodation at every price point, but also crowds and noise in July and August. The main reasons people base themselves here are the beaches (Ladies Beach immediately south of town, and Long Beach stretching 15km further south) and the 18km proximity to Ephesus. The old caravanserai at the harbour has been converted into a hotel - one of the oldest in the area - and remains one of the most architecturally distinctive places to stay.

Practical Booking Tips

Kuşadası is one of the busiest cruise ports on the Turkish coast, receiving up to six ships simultaneously on peak summer days. If avoiding large crowds at Ephesus matters, check cruise schedules and visit on days with fewer ships in port. July and August see the town at maximum capacity; May, June and September–October are significantly quieter and temperatures are more comfortable. Many all-inclusive resorts on Long Beach operate on a closed-circuit model - meals, drinks and entertainment all on-site. If eating in town restaurants is important, choose a town-centre hotel rather than an all-inclusive.
