Booking strategy

Book the best rooms, not the cheapest rooms. Cave hotels have enormous variation between room categories within the same property - a standard cave room and a valley-view suite can differ by ₺3,000–4,000/night. The view and terrace access are what distinguish a good Cappadocia stay from an exceptional one.

Aim for east or northeast-facing terraces. Balloon flights (and the balloon-and-valley photograph) happen at sunrise, in the east. A terrace that faces east captures the balloons rising over the chimneys. Ask explicitly about orientation when booking.
