Turkish Airlines Restores Istanbul–Doha Flights From 8 June
Turkish Airlines will restore scheduled passenger services between Istanbul and Doha on 8 June 2026, operating four weekly flights after a temporary suspension of the route. Flights from Istanbul to Doha begin on 8 June, with return services from Doha launching the following day. The restored frequency gives travellers from Qatar a direct connection to Türkiye’s main hub without connecting through another airline or city.
The route’s reinstatement arrives at the start of summer high season, when Istanbul and Antalya receive their largest share of Gulf visitors. Turkish Airlines — the carrier with the most extensive international network of any airline globally — had suspended the Doha service earlier in 2026, with the resumption bringing the route back within the airline’s wider Gulf connectivity offer.
What the route means for travellers
For visitors flying from the Gulf into Türkiye, Istanbul operates as the natural gateway for onward travel across the country. From Istanbul Havalimani (IST), domestic Turkish Airlines connections reach Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Cappadocia (Kayseri or Nevşehir), and more than 30 further domestic airports.
The flight time between Doha (DOH) and Istanbul (IST) is approximately four hours, making it a practical day-trip-length connection. Qatar Airways operates the same pairing, meaning with Turkish Airlines back on the route, travellers from Doha now have a genuine choice of carrier for the sector.
Booking and practical information
Tickets on the restored Istanbul–Doha service are available through the Turkish Airlines website and app. For travellers planning travel from Antalya — particularly those visiting the coast for the Aspendos Opera Festival season or beach holidays — our Istanbul to Antalya guide covers domestic flight, bus, and coastal ferry options for continuing south after landing at IST.
